Retirement of Sister Zulekha

After nearly two decades of dedicated service, Ms. Zulekha Omar Mbarak retired from service with Islamic Foundation Kenya, leaving behind a legacy of leadership, compassion, and commitment to education and child welfare. Joining IFK in 2006 as a Project Manager, she played a pivotal role in coordinating donor-funded programs before rising to become the Director of Education and Child Welfare.

Throughout her career, she championed quality education, strengthened child protection and welfare initiatives, and provided strategic oversight to ensure IFK centres offered safe, nurturing, and impactful learning environments.

As the widow of the former Amir of IFK, Late Sheikh Mohamed Akhtar Rao, she is also remembered as a dedicated wife who always stood by the Late Amir’s side supporting him faithfully until his passing. Her dedication, professionalism, and passion for serving children and communities have positively impacted many lives and strengthened IFK’s mission. As she embarks on her well-deserved retirement, the IFK family expresses its heartfelt gratitude for her years of faithful service, exemplary leadership, and lasting contributions. We pray that the Almighty grants her good health, happiness, and abundant blessings in this new chapter of life.
