The Islamic Foundation has three interests in Machakos. There is the old center that now houses make shift shops pending redevelopment of the plot, a residential apartment in Mjini and the Township Muslim Primary School. IFK has from August 2023 re-established engagement with Township Muslim Primary School in assumption of its role as the recognized sponsor so as to ensure the interests of Muslim children studying in the school are secured.

The school provides learning access to both Muslim and non-Muslim children form the community. This school is a critical mark of Islamic identity in Machakos and consists of an ECD unit, Children living with Disability unit, JSS and 8-4-4 unit. The performance of the school in KCPE has been average standard with the 2023 class achieving a mean score of 289 out of 500 marks. 

Efforts have been made to reengage the community and various initiatives have been implemented for the benefit of the community including support for the Machakos Madrassa, re-establishment of Da’wah outreach programmes and women empowerment projects.
